Ancient Egyptian Sound Meditation

In Ancient Egypt they believed the voice had magical powers and would chant repetitive sounds to ensure the flooding of the Nile and success of the next crop.

The mantra “Hu” was considered the mantra of creation and from this mantra, Atum, who was believed to be the creator of the world, was born. Atum, known as the ‘complete one,’ was the first God who created himself leading to the creation of all other Gods. Therefore, according to the Egyptians, the entire universe was born from sound making it the most important aspect of life itself.
